Bart's bullets in 6br

muleman69

USMC -1st marine Div. RVN
Just received my Bart's Bullets and can't wait to shoot them. I no this has more in likely been beat to death but I would like to get started as soon as possible. Bart's 80 grain ,26" 10 twist shooting paper and steel out to 1000. Like to go with Varget or 8208. I do have a supply of 4895 also. For primers I have 71/2 rem, cci's and fed's. Also were do I start with OAL? THANK YOU BART FOR THE BULLETS AND QUICK SHIPPING

As far as overall length you'll have to find that one
No one knows your freebore
Use the method alex wheeler has posted on his YouTube to find touch and start there

One of the forum members, jamesntn, did quite a bit of testing with this bullet and 8208 in a 12 twist barrel. He was shooting tiny groups at 500 yards with it which is probably about the limit. I personally witnessed him win our 520 yard club match with this combo.

I need to make a correction, Jamesntn was testing a 6 BRA, not a 6 BR.

Yeh I here ya on the chamber measurement,I was just wondering about the jump or jam?

I use the 80's in both 10 and 12tw 6br. In both of my rifles that have .050fb they prefer .005-.012 jam with the loads I'm using. In those two rifles, 450 primers and 8208 works best for both. We tried 4895 which appeared to be too slow burning.

Your rifle may not like those depths so you should find what works best for you in your load development process. Good luck! WD

I'm looking for bread and butter combos for 6mmBR with Bart's 80g bullets. 26" 1:10twist, shooting at 6600ft.

This thread is suggesting n135 or 8208 and 450 primers. What about n140?

Many thanks! BB
