barrell warp question

Hi,I posted a question to an old thread that nobody must have spotted yet."Barrell painting"and my question is this,if you heat up a barrell to 300 degrees as instructed on Brownells Gunkote,Wouldnt the barrell be wrecked with the heat and warp for mercy or what method do you greats use to paint a barrell.

As long as you stay under the steel's critical temperature you should be fine. Stressing and relieving is much higher. Many sights are cold soldered on bbls and that is up to 620F and it does not affect the molecular structure either.
