Barrell set back

I have a Kreiger 30” barrell that is currently chambered in 284W(sammi chamber) It is an HV contour. Can I have it set back enough to rechamber to a .317 neck? It is on a trued 700 LA. Thank you. E

If you have low , real low round count and the only thing you want to change is going to a smaller neck , you only need to remove the length of the neck . This is assuming the freebore is the same . It'll be about as expensive as a new barrel thread and chamber . It's about the set up time being the same if not more in some cases . Personally I don't think you'll gain much if any . But it is possible
