Barreled budget actions

Recommendations for outfits where a guy can buy just the barreled actions for various guns like savage axis, Ruger Americans Mossberg Patriots ect ?

I almost always end up replacing the stocks or mounts anyway so don't see much reason for paying the extra money for them when all I need is the barreled action.

Can't seem to find anyone that sells the barreled actions for these budget rifles. I can find Howa minis remmeys and the nicer stuff easy, yes but not the real budget stuff , which I just like to play with ( I know it's strange but it's what I enjoy lol)

Mabye I'm just missing something in my Google searches .

Howa mini’s ARE a budget set up! I’ve been watching your threads. You’re getting started and doing well, but............your economics are screwed up.
If you buy 3-4 budget guns @ $400 each, you have $12-1600 invested.
You can find a nice lightly used custom set up for the same money!
Watch the Sale board and visit your local gun shops regularly. Keep your eye out for a deal.
Last fall, I grabbed a Surgeon 591 action with a 6.5x47 chambered Barrel on it for $1500, with brass and dies. It popped up on the sale board and sat for three days before I bought it

Brownell's and even your local gun store. Many of them will locate and sell barreled actions like Howa. One of mine will.

A peice of advice:
Those cheap plastic stocks usually dont sell for much if at all when they are plain black. However if you can find the same gun with a camo stock, it will sell.

Search for a Tikka T3x in .223. Comes with a 1-8" twist and will shoot everything from 50-80gr bullets. Probably one of the most accurate factory rifles you can buy. Oryx also makes a great stock for it if you want to go that far with it.
Yes. I just bought one and I'm very happy with it. I took it out to 630 yards on Sunday shooting mk262 with good success.

As mentioned budget rigs with Tupperware stocks sell about as cheap barreled actions.

Bolt heads can be swapped on the Savages.
Be aware of what action you get exactly when fooling with the Savages, it will determine what stocks or chassis are available.

Bite the bullet and buy an Origin action, come up with a used Jewel trigger and with a Remington foot print take your pick on a chassis or stock.

Don’t think a Savage saves a bunch of $$$, it doesn’t. I got the T shirt, lol.

Ragged Hole Barrels uses Defiance action(rebranded to RHB) and Wilson barrels.

Get a Tikka and put it in a KRG chassis....Mine is a budget rifle in 308 and it shoots amazin...
like one hole groups.

You did not specify caliber and intend the use of the rifle.
I grabbed 2 HOWA actioned barrels from Brownells few years back. The 6mm CrdM with heavy barrel served me well, shooting steel tagret for fun all the way past 1000 yards. It is easy to load for and easy to shoot.
The other Howa is 308 with light 22" barrel, I am having scope mount issues with it, and it is good for 600 yards. I have no issue hitting a coyote silhouette at 500 yards from the first shot.

I also like to grab a tard rifle and makes it shoot. Furthermore, I prefer to spend the extra money on a good scope and more shooting and range fees, etc.
