Barrel Twist for BR or BRX

I have everything to build a Panda rig in either 6BR or BRX and I'm stuck on choosing a barrel and twist. I am going with a Bartlein or Krieger, but need some suggestions on twist. I would like to build the gun as versatile as possible, meaning I would like to shoot 100 to 600+ yards and shoot anything from 70gr to 115 vlds. Would an 8 twist work well with like 95gr VLD's or match bullets at 100 yards? What would be the most versatile twist barrel?

Go with the 1-7.5 twist Bartlein, I think that will be your best bet. I went with a Bartlein 28", 1-8 twist, .236 bore so I could shoot the 87grn V-Max on up to the 107grn bullets. However, for the 115grn bullets, I think the 1-7.5 will work well. I would call Frank at Bartlein and see what he thinks. I believe I read a post were a guy went with the 1-8 twist and he was shooting the 115's just fine, but I would call Frank at Bartlein and get his opinion.

I've had mixed results with 115s in 8-twist bbls. Got poor accuracy out of an 8-twist Dasher, but fine results out of an 8-twist 6x47. Not sure why it worked out that way, because one of my friends has a nearly identical Dasher bbl. that shoots great with DTAC 115s & N550.

If you want to play it safe, and be fairly certain of having a barrel that'll handle 115s, I'd suggest you go with 7.5-7.8 tw. bbl.

If you're building a 6BR or 6BRX, use a 1-8 twist and forget the 111-115 gr. bullets. You'll get excellent results with the heavier bullets up to 105-107 grains.

yep, I would forget wasting time with 115's in anything smaller than a 6XC or 6X47. Especially with anything looser than 1:7. You will likely not get the velocity to stabilize a 115 in a 1:8
