Barrel Torque

We all know a lot of F tr shooters stay away from using the uber heavy 215-230 bullet because of barrel torque. Most of those bullets require a 1/9 1/10 twist barrel hints the torque. So the question is what happens when you use a lighter bullet like a jug? (185) in a 1/9 or 1/10 barrel? still get the torque? maybe 1/2 3/4 off it?

Yes but not as much. Some guys use offset stock for-ends to compensate for this. When the rules allow for it.

For example I feel about twice as much torque with a 190 Berger VLD as I do with a 155 and that is with a 28lb rifle and 3in wide for-end.

1:10twist 29in barrel.
