What is the measurement of the outside of the threads on a rem 700 factory barrel?

Thank you. That brings up my next question. I have a barrel that is threaded for a BAT action. It is 16 tpi and measures 1.060. Is it possible to fit that to a 700 action without cutting it off totally and re-threading?Then have it re-chambered.

Are you sure it's not 18tpi?
That was going to be my exact same reply I don't think bat made a 16 TPI except for 1 inch and eighth by 16 tip.
Next question I would have is how long is the Shank length

Just rechamber it correctly. Anything else is a compromise. Once you get the cone gone and change the 18tpi to 16tpi (if its not an M barrel) youre doing more work in the end
You guy are right. It is an 18 tpi. After cutting the 1" threaded part off, the shank would be 1.850. This will be rechambered to a 17 Mach IV so I am assuming the shank would be long enough for that.
