Barrel Temp strip

Just noticed on the main Accurate Shooter page an article about the temp strips...one company that sells them even includes "clear plastic tape" to help affix It to the barrel!!!! So, maybe we weren't wrong on how we applied them.... rsbhunter
Bought some temp strips for my barrels, they work ok, but even on heavy barrel , they want to lift off because of the curvature of the barrel. Is there a trick to get them to lay "flat" to the bbl?...Thanks for any help...rsbhunter
Been using them for 5 years now. At first I could not get them to lay down. What I found out that works is use acetone to clean the area. Heat up the area with a heat gun and clean again. After I press them down I then again use a heat gun to heat up the strip and press it down on the barrel. This seems to help curve the temp strip to match the contour of the barrel.
Sometimes I may have to heat up the strip more than once to keep it on the curve.

When the temp on the pickup shows 0-55 degrees, you go shoot. Shoot a couple heater uppers and go for broke. No mirage no bugs no allergies no people no hot barrels, just pure enjoyment. I can’t wait to start shooting again here in 6 weeks.
