barrel life?

How much barrel life can I expect out of 6XC and 284? I'm needing to re-barrel soon. PS. Intend to shoot 115 Dtac in 6 and 180 Berger in 284.

The 6xc will give 1000 bench competitive. I have ran them close to 2000 in fclass. The 284 win I am testing for you now! I will have to get back to you on it. I have seen Pete Petros run one to about 2000 and shoot competitive. But that's Pete!!!

For mid or long range prone, the 6XC will average about 2000-2200 rds shooting 107s. 115s will shorten that a bit. If you expect 1800-2000 that would probably be in the ballpark.

Have no data on a 284 but would expect 3000 rds or so.

Those with actual 284 experience with chime in.

My last .284 barrel was actually closer to 3,000 Rounds and just kept on rockin! It was a Bartlein 30" 5R/ I am running a tight neck chamber (.313"). Loads were stout shooting the 180 VLD. After shooting F-Class at Camp Perry last year and seeing some strange things happen during a shoot off, I decided to retire it and put another identical barrel on it, should be ready for Raton!

Could you PM me what your load was and how long your brass lasted so i dont derail this thread? Also, i have heard about 2200 rounds from a 284 win, maybe i am way off?
