barrel length ?

With a 223 bolt rifle is there any advantage to a 30" barrel compared to a 24" barrel ? The 24 is an 8 twist and the 30 is a 7 twist

What are you using it for? My ftr rifle wears a 30. My service rifle wears a 20. My match rifle had a 30, now has a 24 so it balances better.

If your trying to get every last FPS out of it for long range shooting or heavy bullets yes, if not no. What is the application?

What bullet ?? I shoot 20 inch bull barrels at 20 inch with an 8 twist
Krieger and 77gr SMK's at 300 yards with 4895 and a magnum primer.
My SD's came down with the magnum primer. AA-4064 is a good sub.
Next barrel will be a 8 twist. 3 groove Ilja at 22 inches and hang a tuner
on it.

I do some 26,24,20 and mostly 16 inch for fox shooters.the short one is ideal with a suppressor fitted shooting from vehicles.light weight and very pointable.

The 24” is fine as long as the 8” stabilizes the bullet your shooting.
