Barrel Length vs. Flute Length

I have an Okuma LB3000MYW that I can squeeze 19" of travel out of and I'd like to start fluting barrels on it. However, best I can tell, a 26" finished barrel uses about 20.5" inches of length for fluting and, since 26" is pretty standard, I may be out of luck on that machine. I guess my question is, on average, how much length between breech end and flutes is unfluted and how much length from crown to flutes is unfluted?

Youll never know the difference in 19 or 21” of flutes. Just start it another 1/2” back from the muzzle and stop it 1/2” from the cylinder. Nobody will ever notice.

On a typical 26" long sporter barrel blank, the flutes start at 6.5" and stop at 24".

Thanks for the feedback gents, much appreciated. Dusty, I was thinking that as well but I didn't know if that little bit would be as unnoticeable as I assumed it would. I checked Bartlein's site and they sure do have all that there, guess I just looked over it. Sounds like the 19" of travel will just barely get me where I need to be on a 26" max. After that I guess it'll be time to spend the coin on a rotary axis for one of my VF-4's! The only thing I'm concerned about is if I need support in the middle of the barrel to avoid flex and how I'd do it on that lathe. Maybe a follow-style rest...
