I intend to fit a Krieger barrel to my Palma style rifle to shoot Berger 155.5 .308 projectiles. I have had Kriegers in the past and cannot fault the barrel.
I am aware that the popular barrel internal dimensions are in a constant state of flux.
What internal dimensions do you consider optimal at this time?
I use this rifle in top level competition and am looking for the the utmost in accuracy.
I currently use a Krieger 1 in 12 twist, .3075 x .295 bore in 5R with 46.2 grn Varget, cci 200 primers and Lapua large primer brass for a velocity of around 3000 fps. This works quite well but has done about 2800 rounds and is quite fire crazed for about 3.5" from the throat. It is getting a bit hard to clean now, so time for a replacement.
Really interested in what you think.
Regards Mike
