Barrel for Plinking

I would like to know how y'all feel about E.R. Shaw and Green Mountain barrels, this is not for competitions, maybe a varmint hunt here or there? I'm looking at the 416 stainless steel barrel .224, 12T and chambered in 223AI. I would like it to shoot under one MOA, as long as I can do my part, out to 300 yards.

Also, what can I do to cut down on the loud blast at the muzzle? Besides reduced loads, I would like to keep velocity between 3200-3400 fps. Muzzle breaks seem to elevate the sound and a silencer isn't quite in the budget at this time.

I have read some good reports on the new green mountain barrels and have read about the er shaw and most seem to like them.They would be good enough to plink with for sure. As far as noise,without a moderator you are out of luck.Wear earplugs or a set of electronic ear muffs that allow you to hear until you shoot.Dont buy cheap headphones as they don't seem to work as good as the more expensive ones.

Thanks, I do have what I think is a fairly descent electronic headset but everyone always says how loud the 223's are. I guess I'll go with the Shaw barrel, since I have a Savage, it will be a drop in fit plus it will be less expensive then letting my gunsmith do all the work. And that might put me closer to that moderator ownership.
