What is the best way to finish a barrel out for surface finish textured as in bead blasted or highly polished or some kind of brushing?

a slightly rough as "as cast" close to blasted, in flat black(very thin coating) provides best heat dispersion......all else is up to you

Barrel spinners work pretty good for brushed to polished. For a a smooth satin finish, bead blast. For matte textured finish, blast with aluminum oxide...

if you're going to Cerkote at some point in time, you need to use aluminum oxide as media - if you bead-blast (glass beads) you will not get a surface texture sufficient to properly adhere the Cerakote
