Barrel block design/strength

Im planning on building a light weight, bottom split barrel block.
I will be leaving the sidewall thickness at .15, but Im wondering if .3" on the bottom is enough for stiffness and thread engaugment?
Im planning on installing helicoils from the start and .25 deep inserts.
