Barrel Bead Blasting

Good day,
I am starting a rifle build. I am undecided whether or not to have the barrel bead blasted prior to having it black oxided.

I know that bead blasting can impose stress due to the fact that you are increasing the surface area in one area before another.

What's your opinion on bead blasting match barrels (Mike Rock).

I noticed most BR barrels are left "in the white".

Thanks
Jake

I've glass beaded a lot of barrels and never noticed a problem with accuracy..
Most BR barrels are Stainless Steel....

In the white or not, bead blasting wont cause you any ill affects on the barrel. The only thing you have to watch out for is if you are going to coat it with something after you blast it. Using glass beads will not allow for a good surface for paint to stick to. I use granite or alum oxide for these reasons.
