Barnes Triple-Shock X-Bullets

Is the Barnes "Triple-Shock X-Bullets" in 6mm recomended for hunting deere ?
Im thinking about using it in a 6mm norma Br rifle.

Ps. Is .243 bullets the same as 6mm norma bullets ?

Just FYI, watch your pressure very closely when working up loads with Barnes bullets. Some of them have showed very high pressure at low speeds in my .243's.

I had bad problems with copper and pressure in a 3 groove, 8 twist barrel with both the solids and the jacketed Barnes bullets. This was in a SAMI .243 Winchester, you barrel probably will behave differently, I just was making you aware of a potential problem. I like to try a lot of different bullets on deer size game and always go back to the Game Kings.

From what I have heard from others, these issues with Barnes bullets don't hold true for the TSX line. I don't have much experience with them--probably less than 15 rounds through my .223--didn't even have a chance to work up a decent load, longish story to go with that). However, three shots accounted for three antelope out of my .223. They proved very effective.

I have heard nothing but good reviews of the TSX bullets. I'm sure I'll use them again, but at the moment I'm trying the Swift Sciroccos because of the better, published) BC.

I could never get the Barns to group in my 223 but have shot many PA whitetails with the 60gr Hornady SP at 2900 fps.

These were well placed shots at non running deer under 200yds and the damage in the chest cavity was amazing. These bullets are cheap but chew out one ragged hole behind 25.5 grains of H-355 with a Federal match MAG primer, in my rifle.
Take away the Mag primer and the group opens way up.

The barrel im going to use is a 1:8 twist Blaser match barrel. Its 62.7 cm long with 4 grooves. Planing to put a surpressor on it.

Svinfylking; I tried the 100 grain Barnes TSX last year from my .25-06 Remington. It was accurate and I was able to safely reach a hunting load of 3340 fps with no pressure problems. The mule deer fell at one clean shot. A buddy used the 85 grain TSX in his 6mm Rem to take an antelope with one shot. He reported an instant kill. I like the bullet, and plan on hunting with it again this year. Although the Triple Shock may foul less than a standard "X" bullet, it still fouled my barrel pretty quickly. I look at it as a fine hunting bullet, capable of a high level of accuracy, high velocity and excellent terminal ballistics.

You bet I'd use one in 6mm for deer!

I wish I could show a picture like that as proof of performance! I thought I would add that I have used the Barnes 165g XLC's,Blue film coated) in a .3006 as my deer round and it's a killing machine with that bullet.

There may be a slight difference with the coated bullets as far as pressure because I have never had any signs of pressure all the way up to the maximum load shown in the reloading manuals,I shoot about one grain less than max for my load).

I was given advice that the Barnes bullets are too hard for the thin skin of a deer sized animal when you get up into the .30 calibers but I have found that not to be true and have shot one as close as 60 yards and 2800 fps with that bullet and it still expanded enough to drop it dead, and both I shot last year were one shot kills and no chasing the animal.

In fact the problem I have is getting rid of the loaded rounds, I loaded fifty three years ago and I will still be shooting that same batch this year again. Excellent bullets! Too bad they are discontinuing the XLC line now that they have the MRX's.
