Barnard bolt face

A few years ago, I had a bad batch of Tula SR primers. They developed pin hole leaks in the radiused edge. There was no tell tale sign of leakage, without magnification, and they put some small craters in the bolt face before I discovered the problem. That receiver is now using LR primers, and the craters are imprinting on the fired primers.
I’d like to get the bolt face cleaned up. GreTan does not work on Barnard bolts. Does anyone?

You try Whidden? He’s importing the Barnards. That’s where I got my last one from.

Have a REALLY GOOD micro tig welder to put some metal in the craters and clean it up on your lathe. Put a chill bar of copper or aluminum in the firing pin hole and keep the lugs cool and you will be OK.

Is it causing any problems? If not i wouldnt worry about it. Pretty much every ppc action older than 2000 or so has a ring that would scare most folks into hiding and nobody gives it much concern.

I believe whidden tigged a buddies Barnard bolt face, give him a call

One of the gang blew 400 primers in a row on a p model,this etched a primer ring on the bolt face.Unsightly but doesn't cause a problem.
