Bar 3 Long Range in Laurel, MS with Electronic Targets

Shot the first Long Range match at the Bar 3 Range with Electronic targets and I was really impressed. They opted for the Hexta target system. The controls were very easy to pick up and there is oversight as the shooter and the scorer get their own monitor. We never felt like we had any shots that came up weird and the match was run very well, especially for the first time. The range staff was extremely attentive and accommodating, especially to the small minority of us shooting sling and irons. We'll be back for the monthly matches and I recommend it to anyone. Mike, Nick, and Jenn really put on a good match.

Great to hear Warren. I was wondering if someone would post how the match went. I may have to try the electronic match some day.

I am a 1000 yard I.B.S. that shot the match. This will be a game changer and I liked the fact of no pit duty. Had time to wipe carbon from barrel. Looks like I will be crossing over from benchrest to F-Open. Having 3 barrels chamber for this.

More info on their website http://bar3range.com/ Looks like the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month shooting 1000 yard and 600 yard matches respectfully. What's nice about the matches is that it's a multi discipline match meaning we had sling scope/irons shooters, F-open and TR shooters and an IBS shooter. The Bar 3 team is very accommodating. also, It's nice that every shooter and scorer/verifyer has a flip up screen to view, and if you bring your I-Pad/phone etc., you can connect to the WiFi network and be a spectator watching all of the shooters, seeing how they are doing up and down the firing line. Very cool. Oh, did I mention a very nice, covered firing lines and no pit service!!!

Talked with Mike about putting up a I.B.S. 1000 yard target at a match to shoot so we can get date on group size and score. Then we will bring target back to measure and score to check for accuracy. This could be a great time saver in bench rest matches.
