Banged some steel today

I did a range rental today at Bangsteel.com today. Shot steel out to 1200 yds. I shot a 223AI and 6BRX. They both did well out 1040 yds. The 223AI would not stay supersonic to 1200yds, but the 6BRX did fine. The 6BRX did the best of all.

I see they are near Wytheville. We'll be passing thru there in two weeks on our way to OH. Wish I had the time to stay and shoot but I'm in a hurry to start killing groundhogs.

Bill surely you could spare 6 hours. You will probably lose that much time on i77 around Charlotte anyway.

Well, I would have to convince my wife and she is also in a hurry - to see the grandkids that she hasn't seen since last Sept.
We'll be in the motorhome and starting the trip from Kinston, east of Raleigh.
But I will definitely have to make plans for our annual trip from NC to OH next spring. Any place to park a 43' motorhome near the range?

Hmm. Maybe a half a mile from the farm. You couldn't make it through the interstate underpass in an RV.

I hit the 1040yds on the first shot, with the 223AI, but the 1200 yds was a no go. It was going subsonic around 1100yds, and was all over the place. The 6BRX did just fine. The wind was off and on 5 to 15 mph.
