Ballistol as a cleaner and lube

Now with this covid 19 shut down I have time to shoot the breeze . I always liked Ballistol as a cleaner and lube but lately I have been cleaning my 1911's down with charcoal lighter fluid , does anice job . I have now tried mixing 1/4 Ballistol 3/4 charcoal lighter fuid which has more petroleum the just lighter fluid . Works really well , just though to pass it along for things to try.

I use TruFuel from Lowe's. Cleans and lubes.

May try cutting my Ballistol. But it has done a good job for me, for years. And worked well for the military on weapons, for a long time.

No harm in trying , My favorite is Ballistol . Cutting it with the charcoal lighter fluid is the best of two world's.

So the other night I’m cleaning up the garage and son is cleaning his shotgun when I hear him say, Hey Dad I got my finger stuck in the barrel! WTF? Sure enough it’s stuck so I had to ask why did you put your finger in the barrel. To wipe out the chamber end! Grab the can of Ballistol and sprayed it all around his finger and after so twisting and pulling out cam his finger. LOL

Ballistol is good for rifle wood and metal outside and inside.

I clean all my guns with Liberal Tears hand sanitizer. Kills the dirt and sterilizes.

I have been using Ballistol aerosol on a patch. After shooting I wipe the still warm brass and it removes most of the carbon on necks. Then, before full length sizing I wipe the case, again with a patch sprayed lightly with Aerosol Ballistol.

The Latest Hornady one-shot is also a good non-greasy lubricant for sizing, but I like the Ballistol aerosol because it serves two functions.

For larger, magnum cases you may need a heavier thicker case lube.
