Ballistics weather meter. School me please.

It looks as though the Kestrals are a good choice for a ballistics weather meter. What are the considerations to select one over another?

I am adding ELR shooting to my stable of hobbies for retirement next year. Not planning to compete, just shooting for my own enjoyment and to build on something I like to do.

I presently shoot local Varmint Benchrest matches out to 600 yards. I am pretty new at it and shoot middle of the pack. I learn something every time I shoot.

I am having a rifle built to shoot longer distances, 6 BR AI, for 1,000 yards which I will also shoot at the 3 and 600 yards matches to gain familiarity.

It will be a switch barrel rifle with 6.5 PRC and 7 PRC barrels. This whole thing started with an interest in shooting at 1 mile. I was kind of hoping it would pass but it has not so here I go.

Back to the ballistics weather meter question. It looks like there is a tie in between one or maybe some of the Kestrals and the Applied Ballistics app. What is the useful choice there? What does it entail?

Maybe there is a thread somewhere that would be instructive but I have not found it. If there is such a thing a link would be appreciated.

Thanks!

IF. You're going to shoot where you can get cell service, any of the ballistic apps will work very well out to 2k yards.

IF you're going to be shooting in remote areas, then the Kestrel weather station with a solver, will be better IMHO.
