Ballistics Software/App Question

Hello!

I just joined the Shooters' Forum. Lots of great conversations going on!

By occupation, I make software, so, I'm always looking through that lens. With shooting, I'm no different...

If you use a program or an app (on your smart phone) for calculating ballistics, what are you using and why do you like it (or if you hate it)? It's an open-ended question. If you use a Kestrel with Applied Ballistics for competition shooting, I'm interested in your thoughts on your setup. Even if you use a random app from the Google Play Store, I'm interested in your opinions on what you use.

Thanks!

Quickload for simulation of internal ballistics. Quicktarget for external ballistics. Based on comparing results to reality and reading the manual in depth, I fairly well trust what's under the hood. It seems the creator knows his stuff. As an aerospace engineer, I well know the pitfalls of simulation software. "Trust but verify" said Ronny. What I don't care for is the primitive user interface. Most of us have gotten spoiled by slick UIs and these are, well, state of the art for 1990. I can get by because I had to in those days. But I know the UI could be better.

For field use I find Shooter is the simplest and fastest so that’s what I use the most. AB and Ballistic AB get used a bit but not in the field. I still use JBM a fair amount. I use a basic non connected Kestrel.
