Ballistics Program?

I'm considering purchasing a new Ballistics Program and have pretty much narrowed my choices to either Load from a Disk or Neco's QuickLoad. I would like to hear from actual owners who can tell me what they like and don't like about each program. QuickLoad is twice the cost which is O.K if it's twice the program. Value and ease of use would be high on my list of requirements.

I downloaded the free program from www.huntingnut.com It gets all the data I need so I have not looked at any other.

Quickload has already saved the amount that it cost plus some.
If you load a lot of calibers or develope wildcats, it's the only way to go. I also bought "quicktarget" and the sniper simulation/game,good for range estimating practice).
It allows you to set your search parameters like percentage of case filling, bullet depth and max pressure. It has been very accurate on predicting the fastest loads in several calibers.

+1 on QuickLoad. After buying and using QL for over a year, I downloaded the demo version of Load from a Disk and wasn't impressed at all.

While the predictive aspects of QL regarding MV and PSI are what gets most of the attention, its' powder selection capability is the function I find most useful and impressive.

Used sensibly, it's a very good piece of software. I call my reloading days pre-QL the "Dark Ages".

Yes, that would be my opinion. Like I said, I don't own the full-blown version of Load From a Disk, but from what I could tell from the download demo, it's not even a close comparison to QuickLoad.

The learning curve on QL is a bit steep, but once that's out of the way, the program rocks. The best shooting related $150 I ever spent was on a digital scale. The next best $150 was on QL. That should say a lot for the program. :)

Go here to see Quick Load and Quick Target http://www.neconos.com/details3.htm

Both come bundled together and have saved me wountless time and money while helping me understand much more about what is going on inside teh chamber and barrel.

I highly recommend it.

Just in case there's any confusion, QL is software for internal ballistics. Once the bullet's cleared the muzzle, it's job is done.

Can some one tell me where I can find the ballistic software the was on the 6mmbr sight that gave you ballistics till the round dropped out of the air and it had mil dot systems and gps readings of you’re shooting point and the target. It had every thing and extra on a Excel program. I can’t remember the name of it sorry.

Have you tried any of the free programs? I own load from a disk, and it's pretty good, but for simulations I usually use the GEBC available free and open source, it's results are more accurate in my rifle, its open source, and free for use. I like it because you can export the data straight to Excel or SQL to make customized range cards and advanced comparisons.
