Ballistics App for an iPod?

Well a couple months ago my girlfriend won a nice new fancy iPod, guess what i'm thinking about useing it for :'( ;D

I found a couple of different apps that would work for the ipod but i was wondering if anyone has experience and recomendations with them. I dont mind paying for it i just would like a good one.

Ballistic App (Best): http://ballistic.zdziarski.com/
http://itunes.apple.com/app/ballistic/id300045171?mt=8

KAC Bullet Flight (recommended): http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2010/03/advanced-ballistics-program-runs-on-iphone-or-ipod-touch/

Mil-Dot: http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2010/06/new-mil-dot-rangefinder-app-for-apple-iphone-and-ipod/

Along the same line.....

Being techno illiterate, what's the most for the least in a hand held device?

I find Bullet Flight much more user friendly than Ballistic. The only thing Ballistic has going for it is it has a log/shooting journal built in. As far as something to predict bullet impact/correction, Bullet Flignt is much handier.

I use the 32GB ipod touch the 8GB model would get it done for $70 less. It's also handy for thaking photos and video, for what it is the quality ain't that bad.
I almost never play any music on mine and mostly use a spreadsheet app on it.
Come on out to Byers Sunday and I'll let you see for yourself how it works, heck gas is only $3.70/gal, Diesel $4.10. >:( You can make it if you leave Saturday morning.

Thanks James,

I'm getting to the point I think I need up to the minute drops for waaay out there, plus being more handier/accurate than print-outs. Music is not in the picture. So if the 8GB would do all I need, I'll have to pursue that avenue, although I'm all ears (eyes) for other options.

Looks like Byers is a no go.....

Beings my empty brass is laying right where I left it after the 600 Nats in St Louie...... ;D

This brings up a thought/question ive had for sometime

i have a droid smart phone and i have a ballistic app for it, works great like many others.

With apps and todays smart phones Whats the point of buying those PDAs like what NF offers that costs 4 figures. Never used one but my guess is a little more durable and more precise

I just got the KAC Bullet Flight, its pretty cool. I have to wait untill tomarow to see how accurate it is.

I got the second one for 11.99 i tried to get the M version for 29.99 but it wasnt compatible with my girlfriends iPod it said we needed the 4.2 iPhone blah blah blah. This is all i need though i was being a little greedy wanting the M version.

I am pretty impressed. Just put in the correct info and i have been shooting 10 and X rings as my sighters even out to 1000 yards.

I have the middle of the road version of KAC Bullet Flight(I tried to get the full on millitary version but couldnt get the correct update for my girlfriends ipod.) This program has been more correct for me than Point Blank that i have on my computer.

It has very limited use just shooting at known distance ranges but it puts you on the right spot. I really wish there was any kind of "practical long range shoots" up here in MN but there is none that I know of. Thats where it would really be great to have. Its got a milliradian and minutes of angle range estimator that would make things too easy, especially with the NP-R2 reticle im using. Just type in the size of the target and the MOA or Mils and you have a range. Type that range into the other little box and you get the amount of clicks and the MOA to compansate for. With my 260AI everything it has told me seems to have at least a MOA accuracy.

Give it a try, as long as the little electronic device doesnt fall into the toilet or something you should have it for a while.
