Bald Eagle Slingshot Aluminum vs. Iron

Old Navy

Gold $$ Contributor
I am looking at purchasing a Slingshot. Can't decide on aluminum or cast iron. What are the pros and cons? Later! Frank

I prefer the cast iron base. The extra weight is nice when I need to get in a hurry and push my gun back to the forend stop with my shoulder to get off my shots faster while my hands are busy working the bolt and getting the next cartridge.

Thanks for the replies. I have been leaning toward the heavy side for a couple days. I am sure it will be an improvement over my Caldwell Fire Control rest. I have shot some very good groups off it but once in awhile for no apparent reason I get a bad one. I think my gun is too heavy for the cantilever design. Number one son is a veteran ME. He is just getting started with his first long range rifle. He is going to add another post and shoot it awhile. Thanks again. Frank
