Bald Eagle Mini Arbor Press

Hey Guys
Over the weekend I ordered one of the Bald Eagle arbor presses and to my surprise the brown truck pulled up to the house this afternoon and dropped it off. I just finished up using it for the first time and needless to say I am impressed. If any of you are just getting into hand dies and need an arbor press I can definitely recommend this one.

My Sinclair broke last week and I ordered the Bald Eagle press from Grizzly, being I live in Pa it arrived the next day and I put it right to use. I found that its very similar to the Sinclair with a few changes but is much less price wise.

The gear inside, I was just seating a few 180"s with only 1thsd tension and the handle went down on me and got stuck...after I removed the pins that held it in place three of the gears had broke off. Maybe only one was bad and the little bit of pressure on the down stroke caused the others to break. I sent it back as they will refund for all their items and just decided to try something else.

O.K., thanks. I'll keep that in mind if mine ever fails. Would also consider the Bald Eagle, at a savings of $35. $95 when I bought mine. $110 now.

My Sinclair broke as well. They will repair it, but I hate to be without a press for any length of time. For now I've adjusted the lever position to avoid the broken teeth, so it's semi usable. Very disappointed with the quality. I wonder if they changed their supplier because I had another one years ago and never had a problem with it even after loading thousands of rounds.

280 Man,
Man, I do likes those handles better than both my Mini's. Quit posting stuff like that! I've spent enough on reloading equipment these past few years. But thx...nice ittle press!

Are either the grizz Bald Eagle or the Sinclair Made In China ? If not, then where ? Thanks !

OK this is officially funny now. I thought I was the only one 2 known to me Sinclair presses the gears broke off. I tried to just buy the part that broke but was told I had to buy the whole head >:(. I just repositioned the handle too.

I have been using the 21st Century Arbor Press for several months and don't have a complaint.

I thought Sinclair backed up their stuff better. I have seen folks send them back 10 year old broken shooting stools and other things and they always got a free replacement?

They do, all you need to do is send it back...they will even pay the shipping.

"The Bald Eagle is made in China". That did it for me. If/when my Sinclair ever fails, it will go back to Sinclair for free repair.

The Bald Eagle is made in China and it shows, but the operation has been good.

I'm curious how does it show its made in China? I was very impressed with the quality of the one I received and had it not been for the obvious Chinese box I wouldn't have known either way. I buy made in the USA products when at all possible but when I went to Sinclair's website they were out of stock. I'm not trying to argue here but who says Sinclair's are made in America?

Well when I called I told them it had broken and what part and they never offered to fix anything. If they had I'd rather they just send the part so that I'm not weeks without a press.

Larry you need to call again bud, there policy is you can return ANYTHING your unhappy with no matter the time frame, especially if its broken.

My credit (via CC statement) from Sinclair just showed up today for returning my broken press, including the 15.00 return shipping...do I have to call for you!!!!! :)

and I'll agree even though the Bald Eagle is made in China its very nice, infact nicer in my opinion than Sinclairs yet very very similar...but I'd be willing to bet they were both made in the same factory.

I'm sorry to hear folks are having issues with their arbor presses. I lucked out and happened to purchase a used Haydon Arbor Press several years ago at a bargain price and have been super pleased with it.

I just priced it over at his Web site and it now lists for $106.95. It is a well-built press.
