Bag Questions

I have read that front bags need to be "as hard as you can get it". I have also read that "Firm" is best. I have also been told to "keep it kinda soft". :o
What way do most of you recommend for the front bag? What will I see on the target one way versus the other? Also, what is the best sand or mixture of sand to use? I am shooting short range BR in a 10.5lb 6PPC Rifle.

Rear Bag: I use heavy sand in my rear bag. I use play sand in the ears. How hard should the bag(not ears) be? How hard should the ears be and am I using the right sand? I am not a bag squeezer! ???

I need a GOOD mentor bad!!!! :'(

Thanks for the help, Benjie

if your rear bag is very hard then your front bag needs to be soft.. one of the bags needs to be able to take the recoil so the gun wont jump in the bags.

someone posted here about how to fill your bags.. a quote from one of the masters of benchrest.. only a few weeks ago so do a little search and you will find it.
