I only wish I could have my own backyard range! That would be sooo sweet!I'm going to follow this one closely as I plan to put a range in by fall.

That’s a beautiful picture daleboyAny port in a storm...I keep a trail beat down to my 100 yard target...we have about 3' of packed snow . I keep it raked so I can walk on top and not have to follow my own footprints . The wind/sun and freezing rain turn it to ice, keeps me from having to use snow shoes...gets me through the winter . My bench is just out the back door so loads are easy to work on, and gives me a chance to warm up.

Thanks, full disclosure...I have to give my Wife credit for help with the trail . When the heavy stuff comes She shovels it and I do the fine work with the rake . She enjoys the exercise and letting the mind wander thinking of spring...I often say I am a lucky man. That’s a beautiful picture daleboy
I sure do,two of them going all the time . I sit 4 feet from one while at the loading bench . I get the coffee brewed early and enjoy the day going in and out to the benches . I have always enjoyed winter shooting, but my body does not cope so well at times these days. My wife gets me motivated when she lovingly says..." Get out there and shoot, you need to blow some stink off" . She is special like that...Hope you got that woodstove fired up dale, I'm getting cold just looking at that.![]()
that's nice walk out and shoot...I walk upstairs and plink...I just shot my 6xc bout 10 min ago first time in a couple months...gotta lot of numbness in my right handLets see some pictures of your back yard range if you have one. Be interesting to see all the neat and cool ideas.
RIMFIRE PLAYGROUND. WOW. VERY IMPRESSIVE.I can only get 197 yards but am happy to have the room to put my rimfire range in. Try to run longrange rimfire matches thru the summer. Steel racks from 25 yards out thru 197 yards at every 12 1/2 yards. Have two for each distance to swap out or move around to keep it interesting and challenging.
