I'm not looking for sympathy...........I'm giving you a warning!! I'll be back stronger than ever and able to dedicate more time on the bench! So when you see me sitting across from you just know I'm out to win!!

Okay, before I get slammed on here just know I hope it helps me not squirm so much sitting behind the gun and during all the prep work I do at home!! Hope all have a good day!

Hope it works out to your benefit.

BT1 is also having surgery tomorrow. He has not been able to shoot for near a whole year because of both back, neck and internal issues.

You guys holding "back" together tomorrow.

Good luck everything will work out.I have had 3 of them and still do the things i want to do. If you believe in your ability to accomplish something then it will be there for you. Take it easy and don't rush into things right away and you will back in no time.

Best of luck.

The Vets Admin did some work on my lower 3 vertebrae this past August. It took nearly a month for the inflammation (and the pain) to subside. Pretty good after that for the most part. Still cannot stand real long, walk long distances or move heavy objects or I will pay. So, you have an idea of possible recovery time and limitations. Getting off of hard core narcotics after 8 months wasn't an issue...quitting tobacco was infinitely harder.

The silver lining was that the surgeon pretty much demanded a stress test for me before he'd cut me. That likely saved my life as I unknowingly needed some heart work or I may have croaked on the operating table. Had no clue at all. So, I'm good for another 50,000 miles on the odometer.

Good Luck Frankie, best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery.
I've had 3, and am jumping through the pre-op hoops for the next one now. Backs are tricky.
Good Luck!

Good luck Frankie!! I've had mine worked on twice, the second time seems to have worked. Dr. told me watch it or I'll have a erector set in there next time. Hope things go well and you're back on the range in no time!

Provided support for many surgeons in the OR for back surgeries over a 30+ career. Only recommendation I can give is that you may feel 100%, which is the purpose of the surgery but you will never be 100% physically so be smart about your physical prowess enjoy the rest of your life painfree and good luck. I'll say a prayer for you.

I made the comment because I would see 100's of patients that would comeback within a year hurting worse than before and the majority of them was due to them thinking that they could resort to the normal strenous activities they did because they felt great. This is an instance where we don't want to work through the pain or tough it out. Listen to your body and you will be fine. Interesting though, many of the repeat offenders were very young in their 20's,30's, and 40's.
