Recently bought a Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Style 5 Adjustable stock and installed it on my Remington 700 XCR Tactical Long Range chambered in .308. I love the stock and have had great benchrest shooting results with it.
However, the recoil pad on the stock is a bit rough on my shoulder and has been causing me a bit of skin irritation after shooting it for a while. The exterior design of the recoil pad appears to be rougher in design than the other Bell and Carlson and Remington stocks I have. Furthermore, I have a Kahn muzzle brake on my rifle, which reduces the recoil by about 40%, so it's not like I'm subjecting myself to extremely heavy recoil.
Has anyone else experienced this with this stock? And if so, any suggestions for remedying this? Is there an alternative recoil pad I can switch out on this stock to ease the skin irritation on my shoulder?
