Thanks to all who made it out to this two day event, winds were stead and switching. Good scores were posted but you had to work for it! Thanks to all who came and those who traveled.Great couple days with Great people.
Ughhh - I was Clean up to the 16th shot. Pulled the trigger and didn't see impact. Knew right away that I blew up a 90VLD bullet. This is the first time in my 7twist. I contribute it to 95 degree weather, My barrel was not cooled down and most likely it was a bad bullet from a very old LOT. Good thing I had points or that would have cost me the match again. The load was not hot at all shooting about 2750 when tested at 75deg weather, but that spike of weather was not helping.Nice job. You kicked butt.
Inquiring minds want to know.. 189-10?
Thanks it was a blast! That sucks. Solid shooting though.
Ha, Thanks Greg. I'm going to shoot a 7.5 twist next time. But seriously I recall someone saying that the old lots gave the most trouble and I swear someone had 9881. Luck behold that's the one I have. I'm selling them cheap and switching to a New LOT asap!Awesome shooting, John! Sorry to hear about the bullet mishap, I thought you had that cleared up. I seem to recall some other dude giving up 10 free points (crossfire) in the CA State match a few years back and still managing to pull off the win. From personal experience, issues like that rarely end up working out in your favor. As I hear tell, you really want to be using about a 9-twist barrel (or slower) to keep those heavy boolits from blowing up.
Well done!

True they did hammer, I'm going to test the 95smk next.Yes, I also recall that Lot #9881 was one of the Lots that some folks had issues with. Fortunately, they still got the job done for you!
Thanks Ian!Congratulations on this championship, John! Awesome notch in your belt in a strong state of competitors!
Thanks Andy!!!Great Shooting John!
Sorry mike I wasn’t sent the scoresI don't see the Sling agg so I've attached it.
Two shooters that should be mentioned as well:
Mid Thompkins shot very well for being away from the game coming in 2nd overall from the expert class. David Fry came in 3rd overall in sling against some very fine shooters.
Also note the conditions hit the x-count, which was low overall. The two highest x-counts were only 53%.
Scott your first class my man, Great friend and just a great shooter. When you do get it together watch out because your going to roll through and put up some great scores!!congrats to Mike, John, and Jim on their outstanding wins during a VERY windy weekend. When you see 5s and 6s at 600 yards....its windy. A shout out to Ben Steinsholt for his fine shooting Saturday....he did so well i was sure someone else had to be making his wind calls. Jim Murphy, you know youve beaten the competition into submission when they stop talking about you
John, you were so far ahead, that you could have blown up two bullets and still whipped us. Mike congrats on a well deserved win. Mid Tompkins had an awesome performance on Sunday. im just sorry i missed seeing him get into and out of the prone position!
As for me, ill figure out how to shoot one of these days! lots of fun.
and it feels good Andy!...I shoulda never told you that lineJust remember Scott, at least your making someone happy!
