AZ State 600 Yard Results

Below are the Day 1 results. The first relay of the day was a "bunny relay," but it got progressively trickier throughout the rest of the day: you know, the usual Ben Avery stuff. :-) Unfortunately, I brought my 308 shotgun to the first relay and dug a deep hole. But, wifey and son Devon are in the hunt.

Thanks for the info, Scott. The Harris' are representing, as usual. You use the same rifle all 3 Matches or change out the "shotgun" after match 1? If not, how'd you fix it?

Fun to see Ben, @ShootDots on the board. Nice job, Ben, especially in Match #1! Fun to see a bunch of people I've gotten to know over the past year on the board.

Thanks Drew! It is very new to me out here. Getting used to Ben Avery is a HUGE challenge for me>>>>since I am "wind reading challenged"! LOL!!! But I am having great fun and a great bunch of people out here! I have met the "Harris Clan"! They are not only superb shots (look at Christine's score in F-Open) at their respective discipline, they are superb people altogether!

Hey Drew,

Ben was shooting very well. I believe the problem was reloading related: will definitely rectify it before the CA LR next week! I did not change anything, but just tried to shoot as small as possible to make up for ammo that was closer to 1 MOA. Will see what tomorrow brings: praying to the wind gods! :p

I think you'll figure it out quickly. The Harris' are fun people and all excellent shots to boot.

I hope you get it figured out. Good luck, and let the winds blow....

Final results. Oliver Milanovic topped the sling shooters with a Palma rifle. Dan Bramley took F-Open and Justin Bertino took F-TR honors. Fun weekend with great weather, mild winds but tricky at times. My son Devon learned that when you shoot 14 rounds of your brother's 7mm-08 ammo in a 308 rifle, not a single round will make it to the target. Fortunately, nothing was damaged, except his position on the leader board. My thanks to Justin Bertino and Gary Eliseo for loaning their back up rifles so the boys could finish their match.

Lots of great shooting ! Congrats on some fine shooting...! Thumbs up to some fantastic sportsmanship helping up fellow shooters to complete their rounds! Enjoyed reading that...

It's different seeing my good buddy's name shooting his "local match" in Arizona State! ;)

We are lucky to have Ben here with us in AZ! Also, I am quite sure I will be able to hear Ben call out my scores when the time comes, could hear that Texan 5 points away today! :p

Just wanted to mention how well Madison Bramley shot. For those that know us, know she has overcome a lot to get back out one the range. She was Hi Junior and took 7th place overall. She shot well and had a great time, I am extremely proud of her. Sorry to rant, but she received no mention of her accomplishments and I guess I just thought I would mention it here.

Thanks,

Dan

Yes Ben is the best score keeper on the planet..!! You NEVER have to ask to confirm score. It's always very clear!

My very first FClass shoot I was lucky enough to have drawn and share firing point with him! I have been bending his ear for loading and shooting questions for a couple of years now...

You shouldn't be sorry and should brag her up. She is a heck of a shooter and ALL juniors need to be mentioned.
They are the future of our sport and it is fun to watch them shoot. We all could learn a thing or two from them
