Audette Ladder ?

TAJ45

Silver $$ Contributor
Getting ready to work up some loads for several dusties I've had sitting around for a while. Have read a bit and then some about this method. Revisited a site or two today but saw what I felt was contradictory to what I'd previously digested.

IIRC, the idea is to get a node that is NOT at the extreme of barrel whip.........true/false?

I'm not trying to keep 308 super sonic @ 1K so I'm not trying to push the envelope here by fudging "up the ladder."

Anyone?

I also ran across a mod to the Audette Ladder a few years back but do not remember the what or how of the advantage.

Anyone on this one?

Jason Baney talks about a modified Audette Ladder test here:

The original Audette ladder test is predicated on being able to trust your technique. Then nodes will form, the wider the better. Your question begs a discussion of positive compensation. If the node is 4 shots, say across a grain or more of powder, you are golden no matter if it prints 'high' or 'low', etc. If the nodes are narrow, switch powder. With good technique I see various round-robin schemes as a waste. Seymour
