Any one use ing one of these that can give me a honest review on one. For $425 I don’t expect it to blow my mind but just looking for a good scope for some rimfire benchrest matches. Thanks.

Go with the Sightron. There is no comparison. I bought the Athlon and it is useless above 24X. Not a bad scope but the Sightron is much better.

Unless you just like busy CH's at 50 yds, go with the 36x. The weaver 36x is good, the sightron 36x I had was no where near the Weaver in terms of clarity, etc. JMO

I have a Sightron but not the one you mention. Every Sightron I've looked through was superior to the Athlon.
I am like you. I have several s3 and s5 Sightrons just no s2 36x. To look through to see if they are as clear.

For the money a Weaver T36 is far superior for your application. I have one on my 22 and a 6-24BTR on a hunting rifle, completely different purpose builds.

I have definitely considered a t36 if I could find one for a good price. But I hear if you have trouble it’s hard to get them fixed. Also some tell me the Sightron is as good or little better. But I have never looked through either

I own several Sightron and they are great, but never looked thru a 36. They do have excellent service.

I put one on my 2500x and have shot a 250 score 11 consecutive times with x counts ranging from 16 to 22. This is a 48 yard range and these were benchrest type matches. Mine has the 1/8" dot and clicks. Well worth the price for a 22lR scope.

Thanks for the info

The Weaver 36X is a great target scope but as you said there is no repair source as Weaver is out of business. Third party repair shops would charge you more than the scope is worth is something happened to it.
