AT RANGE-VERTICAL GROUPING

well have not been shooting very much,a load that is know to shoot groups in low 1's to low 2's every time it's shot has started to show vertical in the group, say a group would be a .248 and just be a small up and down slit. so i went to work on the load and ended up with the same results.so changed my rest and bag set up,checked and cleaned fireing pin,same vertical have 4 shots in a small hole and cut the group up or down for a .370. so went back the original load and shot 4 of em in low 1's and 5th shot cut the group high for a .300. All this shooting free recoil. So changed to a very sticky front bag and with a hard hold on the rifle shot a .167 and was out of shells.So all the vertical is just me shooting and my range set up But i been shooting a little bit more now and think i got it figured out.so going to load 25 back up and head back to range.

Been reading speedy's artical on vertical stringing, This rifle has never been hard to shoot,Think i may have found the problem, Sticky sear.. going to clean out the trigger and try to get the sear working smooth and retry it. It's not hard to push down but it kind of sticks before it pushes down. Im preloaded and ready to go as soon as i clean the trigger and get good contitions,im going to be out there.

After running into vertical problems with my 6BR, I read Speedy's article, also. His advice about not having a firm front rest bag seems to have solved most of the problem. The rest of the problem is pretty much my inexperience in holding the gun consistently.
