It can still operate as a simple etched-reticle optic, so even Carlos Hathcock would have been right at home behind it. What's not to like?

It is designed and intended for the NGSW. But he did point out it will run on any existing weapon with a Picatinny rail. That doesn't mean many if any will find their way there.

Hopefully they will issue every soldier 2 of them right off the bat. That way when they get to take advantage of the legendary Vortex warranty service, they won't have any down time while waiting for the replacement to arrive.
