Arizona State Palma Championship

Day 1 F-Class [br]
Allan Rosenthal leads the always tough David Gosnell by two points in F-Open. Both were beaten by Rocky Felix shooting F-TR. Great shooting, Rocky. It would be interesting to hear these two fine F-Open shooters explain how that happened. ;) [br]
Two more days to follow. I hope we see some Palma rifle scores, too. Let's see: Would this be Nancy's 43rd or 44th clean Palma. Ahh, I've lost track. ;)

Congrats to my friend and teammate David "The Ninja" Gosnell on setting a new F-Class Palma Course National Record of 450-28!! He shot this today during the AZ State Palma Champ!

Well done, Ninja!!

Day 2 F-Class [br]
David and Allan are tied but David is up by the six X from yesterday. Scott Harris and Milton Gillette edged Rocky today. Both set up F-Open and F-TR showdowns for tomorrow. Congratulations to David Gosnell for his new national record of 450-28X. Great shooting, David!

David shot a great match yesterday and it was well deserved :) I had the fortune of scoring for him.

It's a beautiful morning here at the Ben Avery and we get to do it all over again ;)

Stay tuned ;D

Allan, keep the winning streak going. Regional and long range championship winner. Now hold tight and bring home the palma.

Looks like Dean Wheeler is in the mix in F/TR as well. Good shooting going on out there.

Heck of a match.

Where to start?

First and foremost a huge thank you to the Desert Sharpshooters for putting on one of the best matches I have ever had the privilege of shooting in. These good folks know how to do things right. From Fred, who ran the line to Jack, who ran the pits, this thing went off like clock work. Truly a work of art. Ben Avery is absolutely a fantastic place to shoot.

Watching Allan and David slug it out was something I'll never forget. These two cats can shoot. I was fortunate to be on the same target with them Saturday when David shot lights out and Allan was applying two tons of pressure. Watching two shooters of this caliber go at it is something few get to witness firsthand. Dang near worth the trip in its own right.

Scott and Rocky. Man, you two guys are relentless. You keep thinking surely, one or the other, or hopefully both, will slip up and make a mistake, but oh hell no. It was tooth and nail right down to the last shot. I've never walked away from the line with more respect for two excellent shooters than I did today. It was just fun. And I congratulate both you guys for being excellent sports. If my math is correct, 1323 by 1350 is 98%. Dang hard to win a match shooting against that.

Last but not least, kudos to Christine Harris. A salty shooter in her own right, but a world class score keeper this weekend. She wasn't shooting this weekend, but was snookered into keeping score for not just one, but two shooters at a time during much of the match. She never missed a beat. She was truly impressive. Thanks again Christine, heck of a job!

Hey Steve we missed you out here in not so warm mornings Arizona. I think is was a case of fire forming Friday. And I was in shock!!. lol Hey in my defense. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while. I have been obsessing over my mistakes. The Berger is going to be fun!!!!!

Congrats to the winners!! It was the best competition coming down to the wire that I have seen or been a part of. The Berger is going to be fun. Mid, Rick, Jack, Pete, Joe, Fred and everybody else from the Desert Sharp Shooters crew run a match as perfect as it can be!!! I know I'm forgetting a few names , Sorry.

See you all in February!!!!

Thanks Dean, It was a pleasure shooting with you. I just saw your signature. How very true. But I think it needs an upgrade to 10'S win and X's REALLY MATTER!!!! lol See you in February!!! And yes, You, Scott and myself all shot HIGH MASTER SCORES!! :)

I wanted to share a picture that I took of David (Ninja) holding the record breaking Palma score card. I had the pleasure of scoring for him, while he shot that and was really rooting him on! I was proud to be a part of that ;D

Great job shooting the record David and great job shooting the match! You earned it ;)

Regards.

Allan
