Backstory - I have a customer that is wheelchair-bound that would like an arca rail on his Hells Canyon rifle so he can use it on a ball head mount on his all terrain chair, he has a Kansas hunt coming in September. The issue is the stock is the basic Tupperware stock with "webbed" reinforcement and deep pockets. In the bottom of the pocket, the remaining material is way too thin for the barbed T-Nuts.
I'm thinking of filling the areas I need to put the T-nuts with either bedding material, or even JB Weld, then drilling the bolt hole and milling down the 'inside' for the T-nut. But, I'm wondering if when I do this, I put a small amount of bedding under the T-nut first to anchor it...
Looking for suggestions, advice or otherwise... What would you do?
Thanks!
