A very simple question, first this is not a political thread. It is about self defense and home defense. Please leave your political beliefs out of it. (yes that includes me)

The question is simple to ask but much harder to answer because of all the factor's involved. All the stupidity that is going on in our cities and towns should have you wondering if you have done everything you can to protect your family in case of the "stupids" coming to your area.

We have all seen what happened in one part of our country to homeowners when confronted with so called protesters who broke down a gate to go when they wanted to go. (Leave the politics out of this) just what will you do if this comes to your area? In many areas of our country you cannot do anything unless your door is kicked down and they come into your home. I will just bring up one question here that made me think about protecting our family's, not your property but just yourself or your family.

While watching the nasty news a few nights ago the news caster kept bringing up the fact that some of the "protesters" were wearing body armor. This has in my area come up more than once on the news and yes we all know who these people are as a group. My question to you is simple, ... are you as your family protector prepared to deal with body armor on a bad guy breaking into your home?

Yes a lot of us have firearms that when discharged can pick the bad guy/gal up and throw them off your doorstep, But have you actually thought about having to do that, and if so what and where are you going to aim to do so to protect your family while the rest of the stupids are trying to get into your home at the same time?

This is just one question of many that you may only have a second to answer should this come to your neighborhood, do you have a plan in place if it should happen? Have you taken the time to think ahead? You and i and others on this forum can share ideas and help others become better prepared for something we all knew couldn't happen here.

Remember, NO politics. Simply what can we do together to be better prepared should it come to our neighborhood?

When I practice with a pistol, I take the advice of an ex-Army kid I’m friends with. Double tap center mass then a head shot.

That's why mother nature made 30 round mags and green tips. Won't penetrate some armor I know. If they are still standing after the first shot in center mass, then move to other parts of the body. Guess I will have to practice that move.

Pistol is first line of defense. It lets me get to the AR-15 which will defeat body armor.

That's a scenario I think about more often these days. I've come to the conclusion that a home invasion would most likely involve more than ONE PERP. As such I've concentrated on rapid action drills such as competition shooters employ. My weapon of choice would be a barely legal 12 ga pump shotgun (mine holds 7+1) and is loaded with my hand loaded .30 cal cast lead balls with a 45 ACP at my side/night stand.

On the street or even the property, time to be watchful. If they start breaking down doors or coming in windows, then the old scattergun with double OO buck is going to come into play. Body armor or not, it will defeat it by striking arms, legs, head and body parts not covered, and can take care of more than one criminal in the line of fire, very easy.

Body armor is common now, seems everyone has it. Teaching now to shoot for the pelvis, reason? 1 break the pelvis he/she can’t stand. Drops them like a bad habit. 2 lots of major blood vessels to bleed out quickly. Now you can do the head shot.

I've read: Break'em down. Hip joint if time for placement is available. Crotch would be collateral, femoral artery as well.
Side note. ALWAYS practice weak hand. I'm no combat vet, hope I won't get pushed into that bullet point on my Life Resume.

Several things I have noticed during this unrest:
1- They love to travel in groups and make an awful lot of noise, pretty much removing the element of surprise.
2- They crowd together making for a larger target and increasing the chances of hitting more with less. Plastic shields and umbrellas won't stop lead.
3- They swarm their target but run when shots are fired, not all, but many do.
