Archimedes Action, opinions

I currently have two. One in 223 and the other in 6 BR (subject to change for no reason). Both operate smoothly without any hitches or anything funky.
Granted the pivoting bolt handle took a minor bit of getting used to, it wasn't a major issue. And, yes, the bolt is a bit complicated to disassemble.
They probably aren't used much for Benchrest or F-Class, but for PRS style matches or hunting, I don't think
you'll find a much better option. Not much chance of getting a stuck case, as long as the cartridge rim is strong enough.
Although the Mausingfield is his top model, even Ted says the Archimedes is the best of his three receivers.

I don't have one but I've barreled up some for customers. I don't like how many parts are in the bolt, it's not ideal at all for a quick field cleaning. Often in field matches there is a lot of dust and a bolt can get sluggish and need a quick wipe down. I've come back from matches and had all that crud inside the bolt and it's nice to be able to quickly remove the firing pin assembly and clean it out and lube it, I wouldn't want to have to jack with all those parts every time. Also I don't like that I have to remove the ejector to use the action wrench.

With that being said they are well made and have a unique feel with the pivoting bolt handle. From a machining perspective they are super simple to barrel up, they have 1 1/16x20 tenon with a flat breech; it doesn't get any easier than that.
