Interesting idea. Minimum ring height would be 32mm if identical serrations are used. You make a good point. Light weight attachments would be OK. Maybe that would be something for the distant future. Someday we need to collaborate with Sniper's Hide on a public design project in real time...

Got mine mounted this week. I've been waiting on my MK5 to show up. I'll have it out this weekend. As always with everything else from ARC, it's a tank, but not overly heavy. You'd almost think Ted's mantra is:
If it worth doing, it's worth over doing

Replaced all my Spuhr mounts with them. I find the rings being split and hinged do exactly what Ted says and am now a huge fan of that set up.

By your post, I just looked at it. It reminded me of the long conversation I had with Ted, about 3 years ago. It also reminded me of the battles I used to have with Architects and engineers during my 30 years of building houses.
It’s a nicely made over engineered expensive to make hunk of jewelry. The base is too short so he had to add extra locking bolts. The “hinged” feature? Why? It just raises the cost of manufacturing, but that’s what he does. Glamour up your gun and add your cool doo dads, levels and lasers if you want. For that money, I’ll add a bit and buy a new barrel!
