Arbor Press Users: What Press Do You Use for Sizing?

I hope to avoid turning this into a "merits of arbor press seating" thread. Im considering moving to an arbor press as a means for easier load dev at the range. For those of you that do your seating w/ an arbor, what press do you use for sizing? Curious if I can get by with something like a Lee Classic Cast. I prefer to do decapping, sizing, and mandrel as separate steps so those would all be done on said single stage.

thanks for any info or experiences

Decap with a handheld pliers or Pope style decapper. A Harrell's 4 station turret where the brass length works so I don't have too many loose loose pieces to swap. The Harrell's has an aluminum turret without steel bushings so lighter but subject to more wear if used for decapping (grit) and die swapping. A Hollywood Universal Turret where I need the oversize dies for oversize cartridges. Just kidding on the square about the Hollywood but it is true.

Nothing wrong with a lee classic cast. The fit/finish is a little lacking, but the parts that matter are good, and it’s got some nice features that other presses don’t have - mostly the adjustability of the handle and the way the primers drop through the ram.

A partner is also a great press, and is small enough to take to the range should you decide to do that in the future. For some reason people seem reluctant to use one as a main press. In my experience, they’re just as good as anything else, and they’re smaller and cheaper.

If you're bringing your prepped brass to the range, you're almost there. For hunting stuff that gets sized with traditional dies, I use a large RCBS press at home.

For cases that take minimal sizing and use a neck bushing, those are done with the small Partner press. In fact, the dies for those are set for the Partner and I use it at home, also. Just a Delrin block on the bottom and a couple of 'C' clamps at either the range or at home.

Not the best pic but you can see the K&M arbor press and Wilson die along with how the powder measure is mounted to the loading box:

The Lee Classic Cast you asked about will work fine. Custom dies make better ammo...;)...I like old stuff "just because" and use 2 Hollywood Seniors and a little blue R.F.D. for all my sizing. Mostly, Sid Goodling made dies and the ammo is good.

Regards
Rick
