AR15 CMP style float tube -CARBINE LENGTH?

Ive got in my mind to build a bit of a "sleeper" carbine.
A short barreled match carbine per say.

I want to use a standard looking handguard, either A1 triagnular or A2 round, carbine length, and I want to float the barrel with a sleeve tube like what is done on CMP service rifles.

I swear I saw somebody making these a while back, but for the life of me I cannot find it again.

Anybody know who makes [or could make] something like this?

with a short bbl you will not put enough pressure on the bbl from a sling..so you will not need one.

Hmmm. It's been a few years since I built my service rifle. Thought the float tube was the middle. Sorry.

Now quad rail hand guards/ geissle hand guards are cmp legal
Use one of those in carbine length

I just popped off the handguards on my service rifle. I think I was right, at least with the tube I have which is a White Oak Armaments kit:

Chop the tube to the proper length and rethread.

With the rifle length float tubes you need a specially bent gas tube too. Consider that however you proceed.
