AR muzzle brake removal

I have a WOA A-2 upper and I would like to remove the muzzle brake. WOA said that is held in place with red loctite and heat is needed for removal. Can I do this in the receiver vice holder or do I use a barrel vise? To use the barrel vise I need to remove the muzzle brake. Any suggestions? nilebartram

if you got the same type of clamp I got it will work, depends on pressure.only question I got , who puts loctite on a AR muzzle brake, I've always used a crush washer, be careful
with the heat,

Once you apply the heat, you shouldn't need the barrel vice hopefully. hit it with a propane torch but from a bit of a distance to warm it up slightly slowly to the 500F where red loctite liquifies. same process you often have to do to remove a barrel nut, no harm to the barrel or brake. just do it slightly slower over the course of a minute or 2 versus totally cooking just the half inch of threads in 10 seconds

agree - don't apply loctite when you install it again, find a crush washer that clocks it appropriately
