AR Comp in 6mm Turbo 40?

Any body tried it in the Turbo or a similar 6mm gas gun? Been using Re-15 and while the accuracy has been excellent, the temperature sensitivity has been more than I'd like, considering shooting temps can fluctuate from as cold as 20 to as high as 100 degrees here in MN.

I picked up a pound of it today and am looking for a starting load in the Turbo 40 with 95 gr SMK's and 105 A-max's. My FF load with Re-15 is 28.5 grains with the 95 and it is very accurate.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Erik

Eric ,
I have done some limited testing with AR-Comp in the Turbo 40. I found the burn rate similar to, or even a little faster than H4895. My best load with the 90 BT was 29.0 (close to max with my rifle), and 28.5 with the 105VLD (or hybrid)

Thanks Keith. Do you know what kind of velocities you were getting? How was the accuracy?

Accuracy was quite good. (i had started with 27.0 , and worked up to 29.5 in .3 steps, where pressure was to much for 20 shot strings) . My 29.0 load with the Berger 90 BT resulted in 2925fps average. My 105 load was capable of reaching 2860fps with 29.0 , but the accuracy was much better at 28.5 (2800fps) (shot a couple 200's at 600 yard line with the 28.5 load)

Keith,
That is great info, and much appreciated. Gives me some good ideas of where to start off. Hope to get some good results with this powder.

Nate,
Thanks for the link. I will check out Mr. Scandale's page after work today.

Erik

Erik, I know this string is a little old, but I can tell you what I am shooting in my 6 RAT, the RAT has a H2O capacity of about 37.3 grs. I know the Turbo is about 38 grs. I have been having good results with AR-Comp with 107s at 28.1-28.2 grs. and Wolf SRM primers. that is right at about 2790 fps. Very low ES and SD. shot a prone 500 match this past weekend. First string was low, but was me at a 194-6X, second with neck turned brass was a 199-9X ( I screwed up and missed a wind change on the dropped point), then a 196-5X for a 589-20X. Not my best performance but the conditions were tough and it is only the second time I have shot a prone match with the RAT so I was satisfied. So far, my tests with AR-Comp have been very promising, we shall see this summer if it is really temp stable since I shoot in Phoenix! I also tested it in my 6WOA which is about 35 grs. capacity in Remington brass, and had an outstanding 5 shot group of about 1/4"-3/8" with 107s at 2716 fps, ES-12, SD-6, Wolf LR primers. Everything with bare bullets, Dave
