AR 30 brass

Has anyone seen any AR30 brass lately? Ive heard that Remington has stopped production of anything that is associated with the AR30 rifles. I don't know if that's true or has it all been lost in the shuffle and ammo shortage?

Maybe I missed it, but have never seen new Rem 30AR brass for sale. I just bought a couple hundred rounds of loaded ammo when it was on sale and figure that will hold me.

I did a search on 30 AR brass and have seen threads on people buying brass but they are all old posts. Gary and I have considered using it as a case for a suppressed bolt action rifle. But if its all gone the way of the do-do bird and will continue to be hard to find I'll pass, but if it's just hard to find cause of the shortage and will reappear some day then I all over it.

You can make it out of 30 Remington which is 30-30 with the rim ripped off and shortened. I have found used brass sites with 30 rem for sale. I think Remington dropped the ball and they just plain don't care that their 30ar cartridge didn't get as big as projected. I would write a letter to the ceo of Remington demanding an answer why they wont provide brass for reloaders and if they blow you off, organize and start a class action against them for selling a product they refuse to support. I have been in a lot of gunshops and have never seen any ammo for sale.

Remington never released the Brass for the 30 REM AR but I know that Midwayusa.com has the AMMO for sale at a good price.

But if you want to sell that upper....

Jon, sounds like you've been in New York too long...... :P
Arms manufacturer CEO demands and Class action law suits?

You might consider the 30 Major which is a 6.5 Grendel necked up to 30. It is well-proven.

A Grendel cartridge does not have a .473 base. Otherwise it would be the logical choice. The 30 BR would be a good choice but reamers and dies are outrageously expensive cause most are used for target work and they claim exceptionally tight tolerances. If I could get a set of cheap standard dies I think the 30 BR would be the one.

Sorry. I kept to the conclusion that you were doing this in an AR. Also sounds like you already have the action.

I have been shooting the 6mm/30 Rem AR for high power competiion several years and it is a great cartridge and rifle.

Remington has an obligation by law to provide ammunition and parts support for these rifles or to purchase them back.

Currently Remington/DMPS is not supporting their product for parts or ammunition and there is no substitue for the 30 Rem AR Brass because of the specialized .492 bolt face and cartridge case size.

I have spoken with the Remington Program Manager and there are no plans to support this product or to supply brass, parts or ammunition. Basically if you own a 30 Rem AR rifle you have scrape metal in regards to support from Remington.

1. buy 6 BR dies and have it opened up to 30 or what ever you need.
2. buy a Harold's 30br full sizer did 75.00
3. send me a PM I have extra 30 br dies

I built a hunting rifle out of the 30 rem AR - it is nice with the 134 Barns or 125 Nosler.

I think that in a world where Remington was concerned about being fair and honest you could point out that they were not supporting a product and get results. But this is the company that told Mike Walker to shove it rather than spend an extra 23 cents to make the triggers idiot proof. And only after many law suits, 40 years and a TV documentary have they done anything. I just didnt know for sure if they were going to support the AR30 or not. PM inbound.

I was kinda kidding about a class action lawsuit and I have lived in new joke to long. I read somewhere that it was based off the old 30rem so it may have been an article based on theory than fact.

LH Smith I think you are right so I was way off base pardon the pun. I think the ar30 crowd is in a bit of a quandary. Either they buy loaded ammo and reload it or rebarrel to something easier to get. It sucks as it looked like an interesting cartridge for an AR based rifle. Maybe one of our good gunsmiths could come up with a suggestion on what can be done, but it looks grim doesn't it.

With a LOT of work 7.5 Swiss will work. Push the shoulder back, anneal, fire-form,ream and turn.

Midway USA has some 30 AR brass for sale as of 5/28/16.

I searched AR30 and 30 AR then all Remington rifle brass and could find nothing at Midway USA. Could you give me some clues, I am not too good with a computer!!!!!

They have had loaded ammo pretty consistently, but I have never seen brass at Midway or anywhere else.
