AR-15 twists

I now a 1:8 is good for the heavies but will they shoot good with 52-60 grainers with good accuracy.Also what will a 1:9 do for them.

I shoot 55's fmj's out of my 8 twist all day long .. It shoots them just fine. I haven't shot 8 twist.

For 100 and 200 yard matches I regularly shot 52 gr BTHP match bullets out of a variety of 223's with 1:7" twist Hart barrels and they shot very well. In truth if you are going to limit your shooting to 52-60 gr you can probably go with a 1:12 twist.
