AR 10 Gunsmith

Can anyone recommend at top AR 10 smith. Have a DPMS LR243 that is not shooting the way I think it should.

Is it throwing the brass a mile a way? Just replacing the gas block with and adjustable type can do wonders. Adjust it so it just toss the brass out and work up from there testing accuracy. Just a thought. Replacing the gas block on my wife's AR-10 improved the groups considerably.

Can you post a pic of your rifle ? would help me to know what questions to ask.

I would add that in my opinion you should not expect bolt gun accuracy from a semi auto.

Post pictures and information, whats it doing, whats the parts, whats the details. Spending money for a smith to look at an AR is dumb. Learn, ask questions, filter bad info, and do it all yourself... bolt gun accuracy (not ppc custom build accuracy) is achievable with the correct parts and in good hands both build wise and shooting wise.

Most people that complain have factory bought AR's that Ive seen. Theres a big weight put on a quality barrel from the get go..

I just had compass lake do a Krieger 260rem for me. I got it back about a month ago. The turn around time was around 3 weeks. It cost $720 to have my armalite ar10t rebarreled turn key. That includes freight tax assembly and whatever else was included along with a 24” heavy Krieger chambered in 260 rem. Save yourself money and time and have them do it the first time. Not to say craddok precision and keystone accuracy won’t also do a good job but I’ve personally had two compass lake rifles now and both were very impressive. I regret selling the 223 rifle.
