AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor loads

I'm looking for any good shooting AR load using a 127-130 gr bullet. I do not want any bolt gun loads please. Thanks for your consideration.

Match or hunting?

I'm using a set up which is slightly different from the standard AR-10 platform. My barrel is 24" in length and I have a rifle length gas system +2 additional inches and a tested gas port and gas block which have slightly larger diameters. My data won't work with your factory or standard custom rifle.

You can use the 6.5 Creedmoor forum but there is a lot of information here when you use the search feature for the forums.

Many of the shooters using standard AR10 platforms still start with 40.0 grains of H-4350 for their ladder tests. I gave up on 4350 when it became unavailable for so long. I have basically weaned myself off of Re-17 and switched to Re-16 which I'm finding to be a very good powder. I have also used Ramshot Hunter, Norma URP and for a slight reduction in pressure and velocity, Hybrid 100V. All of these perform quite well in my rifles, although Re-16 is in the favored slot right now. This is my current choice for shooting 1,000 targets.

Regards.

I have a 24" custom McGowen on my AR-10 in 6.5 CM too...

A good place to start (and I guarantee this will be suggested multiple times) is to copy Hornady's load data that they provide with their factory match ammo. I believe it is something like 41.5 gr H4350 under a 140 gr bullet, or 39.5 gr Varget under a 123 gr bullet.

I have shot mostly lighter stuff in mine as it is easier on brass.

AR Comp with 123's. Start at 36.0 and work up to 37.2-37.3 in proper increments. Easy on brass/gas, maybe not the velocity of 44-44.5 of H4350, closer to 39-39.5 Varget, but has found favor with those willing to work with it. Can work well in 223/Grendel/308, as well. Never a velocity king, but accurate in the right application.
To be honest, 41.5 H4350 works very well in 3 AR's under 139 Scenar or 140 AMax. Around 2650-2700 in 21-24" barrels.

Thanks for the info from all. I have looked at 6.5 Creed .com but most are shooting 140's and I'm trying to get a bit more velo for hunting with a Barnes 127 gr LRX without holdover/dialing. It really appears that H4350 is the go to powder, I tried RL-17 but it really appears to be too a high energy powder for a gas gun. AR Comp is much easier on the gas system and why I was looking at it. I've had great success with it in a 6.5 Grendel. We have a few loaded with 41 grs of H4350 x 140 gr to try out.

I've tried the 6.5 Staball powder without any luck. Anyone using it in an AR 10 6.5 creedmoor?
I have 8 lbs of it and what like to come up with a great load
